St.Xavier’s Institutions are well known and prestigious temples of learning in both East and West Godavari Districts and especially in the town of Eluru. My heart throbs with joy in extending a spread sheet of welcome to St.Xavier’s Institutions. Especially I invite you all to leaf through our Website. St.Xavier’s Institutions are well known and prestigious temples of learning in both East and West Godavari Districts and especially in the town of Eluru. The institutions have been rendering a valuable service to the society by focusing on the holistic growth and development of the poorest of the poor, less privileged sections and different strata of our society. It has created a niche in the field of education. To this day the institution is one of the most highly regarded academic bodies and has produced some of the most influential politicians, professionals, church leaders both in India and abroad.
The institution provides quality education which enables the students not only to thrive in academics but also motivate them towards character building, leadership, extra and co-curricular activities and above all lasting spiritual values. According to me “Education takes away ignorance.” An education is the house of formation of formators of the Society.” St. Xavier’s Institutions name was taken from St.Francis Xavier who was a great missionary to India and whose body is still incorruptible in Goa.
He was highly intellectual, an eloquent preacher and was a dedicated teacher. He became the patron Saint of our Institutions. PIME (Pontifical Institute for Foreign mission) is the missionary Institute which was founded in Italy in the year 1850.It has spread its wings to the land of India in the year 1855.The main intention of the PIME in India is to serve the poor people of India irrespective of their differences. A good number of PIME missionaries who came to India tirelessly worked for the upliftment of the poor. They started to focus on the education of the poor and neglected. They felt that education would bring a vital change in the life style of the people.
Hence, this led to the establishment of number of schools wherever they worked. One of them was St. Xavier’s Institutions which caters to the needs and education of socially and financially marginalized of the society. After the establishment of Bishop Grassi school, and St. Joseph ITI at Gunadala, Vijayawada, the then Bishop Most. Rt. Rev. Ambrose De’ Battista initiated the plan to start another school near Eluru town. Rev.Fr. Joseph Moothedam was sent to prepare the ground work for the founding of the school and later Rev. Fr. Mathew Kalpakacherry was sent to start the school.
In the year1963 they explored the possibilities and all was set to begin the official academic year for the classes VI to IX in the year 1964-65. Initially they build a small shed with few children and slowly spread its branches strong and wide to give shelter to numerous children deprived of education. From the year 1963 onwards number of dedicated correspondents, Head masters/mistress, teachers and support staff has worked indefatigably round the clock for the development and growth of our institutions. We appreciate their uphill struggle, unceasing support, undiluted commitment and unfiltered dedication to our institutions.
St. Xavier’s Institutions in Eluru have humble and simple beginnings but has valuable history to be read and to be untold to the future generations. The saga of its glory will never be erased from the minds of people of Eluru and surrounding villages.

At present due to the frequent changes in education scenario and emerging new policies, we are going through difficult situations yet our efforts do not land in vain rather we continue to explore different possibilities in order to give a quality based education to all the people who step into the portals of our institution.
At this juncture the aluminas of the St.Xaviers institution have come forward with a proposal to start a website for all our St. Xavier’s institutes to bring awareness to the alumni regarding the running of a school in these testing times. I thank them personally for their love, thoughtfulness and their great support to their alma mater in particular to our St.Xavier institutions. I am sure through this platform we can reach out to many of our well-wishers, teachers, students and alumni.

God bless you all!
